To ensure a future-ready workforce, the Directorate General of Training (DGT) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Future Right Skills Network (FRSN). The Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are gearing up to introduce the innovative curriculum “AI for All.”
This curriculum, designed to enhance awareness of Artificial Intelligence (AI), will delve into its history, principles, and various types. With this curriculum, learners will have the opportunity to explore the practical applications of AI and Generative AI tools in creating digital content and enhancing educational experiences.
The curriculum aims to initiate individuals into the realm of AI, bridging the gap between industry demands and academic offerings. Furthermore, it will align academic programmes with the evolving needs of industries, highlighting the critical role of skilling, reskilling and upskilling in navigating today’s disruptive era.
FRSN, a collaborative effort comprising QUEST Alliance, Accenture, Cisco, JP Morgan, and SAP Labs India, is spearheading this initiative. Their goal is to empower up to 2.5 million learners across 15,000 ITIs, equipping them with vital future skills such as digital literacy, problem-solving, critical thinking, and workplace readiness, among others.
The agreement between DGT and FRSN delineates a comprehensive framework for collaboration across four key areas: curriculum and assessment for building employability skills, trainer development, promoting women in the workforce, and integrating future skills such as Green and AI. This collaborative effort aims to prepare the workforce for the challenges and opportunities presented by the rapidly- evolving landscape of AI and technology.
