DE Shaw India has appointed Piyush Raghuvanshi as head-talent acquisition for its technology and quantitative businesses, strengthening its talent leadership as the firm continues to expand its presence across India. In his new role, Raghuvanshi will lead lateral, strategic and leadership hiring while driving the integration of generative AI into recruitment processes.
Based in Hyderabad, he will report to Chaitanya Gorrepati, managing director and OpCo member, and lead a team of around 30 talent-acquisition professionals supporting a workforce of nearly 2,500 employees across three Indian offices.
Raghuvanshi joins D E Shaw India after serving as chief human resources officer, apna, where he spent more than four years helping scale the organisation across multiple business lines, including job marketplace, EdTech, enterprise AI solutions and AI Labs. He played a key role in talent expansion, organisational growth and building a purpose-driven culture during a period of rapid business evolution.
Prior to apna, he was the founding HR leader at Zupee, where he built the people function from the ground up and supported a period of significant growth in valuation, revenue and workforce scale. He was responsible for leadership hiring, organisation design, rewards frameworks and talent strategies that enabled the gaming platform’s rapid expansion.
Earlier, Raghuvanshi headed talent acquisition for OYO’s APAC operations, leading large-scale hiring programmes, recruitment- transformation projects and AI-led sourcing initiatives across multiple business verticals. His career also includes senior talent leadership roles at Syngenta, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and Wipro, where he managed recruitment operations across Asia-Pacific markets, technology businesses and global capability centres.
With nearly two decades of experience in talent acquisition, employer branding, workforce planning and recruitment transformation, Raghuvanshi has built expertise across both global enterprises and high-growth startups.
He holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from the Institute of Management & Development and a Commerce degree from Banaras Hindu University.
