Piyush Mehta, who is currently leading the global people function for Genpact, has been elevated to the position of country manager.
He will continue to shoulder the responsibilities of CHRO, that is, all aspects of HR such as training and development, recruitment, resource management, as well as talent marketing and management. He has been successfully helping drive a culture for 90,000+ employees that embraces diversity and inclusion across all operations.
This alumnus from XLRI Jamshedpur, from where he obtained his MBA in personnel management and industrial relations, holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hansraj College.
In the initial years of his professional journey, Mehta held multiple roles in HR at Hindustan Lever, from 1992 to 1997. He spent two years at AT&T as HR director, India. After leading end-to-end processes across all aspects of human capital management from 1997 to 1999, he moved to PepsiCo, as director-organisational capability,Asia Pacific. For the next two years, he partnered with the business to diagnose, design and deploy strategic learning solutions.
It was in 2001 that he joined Genpact.
As a key member of the Genpact leadership council, in the two decades that Mehta has spent at the company, he has contributed to a wide variety of areas involving people management in both business and corporate roles, including employee relations, organisation capability, integration of mergers and acquisitions, technology-led transformation and managing the HR function for profit-and-loss businesses and geographies. In 2005, he was elevated to the role of CHRO, and was an active member of the team that took the company private (as a spin off from GE).
