Globant SA, an IT and software development company, led by Martin Migoya, CEO, is charting a unique course in the post-pandemic work landscape. In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Martin Migoya, CEO, Globant SA, an IT and software-development company, revealed their intention to embrace a fully remote work policy for its nearly 30,000 employees spanning 33 countries. This is unlike the trend among many tech giants mandating a return to office.
Contrary to assumptions, the company emphasised its commitment to fostering face-to-face interactions. While the company has expanded its office footprint, it refrains from coercing employees back into physical workspaces. Instead, Globant is adapting its office spaces to cater to the evolving needs of its workforce, observing a natural resurgence of staff without coercion.
Following the pandemic, Globant revamped its office layouts, introducing communal areas, private meeting spaces and adaptable workstations. Notably, the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers count among the company’s clientele, indicating its global reach and influence.
The company emphasised the importance of maintaining flexibility, viewing the office as a hub for connection and collaboration rather than merely a place for individual tasks.
With a $1 billion investment plan underway, Globant aims to recruit an additional 20,000 employees over the next five years, expanding beyond its Buenos Aires base. The company is now headquartered in Montevideo, Uruguay, and it recently established a presence in Tandil, an agrarian community previously untouched by tech innovation.
