These employees were not only found guilty of fudging travel-expense bills, but also of accepting personal favours, gifts and other benefits from some of the vendors, suppliers and dealers .
The two-wheeler major, Hero Motocorp, has terminated the services of 30 employees — non-key managerial staff—for unethical practices.
These employees were found to be accepting personal favours, gifts and other benefits from some of the vendors, suppliers and dealers. Besides, they were also found guilty of fudging travel-expense bills.
The decision to fire these employees was not one sided or merely based on allegations. A
thorough internal investigation was done , post which a third-party independent investigator was brought in to verify the allegations.
The employees were also given the opportunity to present their cases. In fact, these employees accepted their fault when they were confronted with evidence.
Only after they were proven guilty, did the Company decide to fire these employees.
The management took this tough call because they had violated the code of conduct.
“All due legal procedures were followed before taking the final action,” the Company said.
Hero Motocorp has over 7000 permanent and 14,000 temporary employees.
