Divorced daughters will now be eligible for family pension, if a divorce case has been filed before the death of the pensioner.

Women government employees who have commissioned surrogacy will now be entitled to maternity leave. Jitendra Singh, MoS, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions shared this information while addressing the media in the capital.

In addition, divorced daughters will now be eligible for family pension if the divorce case has been filed before the death of the pensioner/family pensioner, even though the judgment has been passed after the death of the pensioner/family pensioner.

Constant Attendant Allowance on disability pension has been increased from Rs 4,500 per month to Rs 6,750 per month. Singh said that these are revolutionary steps forward. These will promote gender equality and provide equal financial benefits to women. These are not only financial reforms, but also social reforms keeping in mind the futuristic society.

Singh also talked about the various achievements of the Depart of Personnel and Training (DoPT), such as electronic-human resource management system (e-HRMS) launched on Good Governance Day, that is, 25 December, 2017 and the launch of an online system for monitoring of disciplinary proceedings, aimed at expediting the actions against government employees involved in corruption cases.
