The Indian information technology multinational, Wipro, will open a new delivery centre in Sherwood, Arkansas, for which it will hire 400 people over the next two years. The Company is spending about US$3 million on this delivery centre — spread over 70,000 square-feet — and convert it into a customer-service centre.

Not only will this move bring the Company’s operational capabilities to Arkansas, but this delivery centre will offer jobs to the locals, who will work towards providing operational services to Wipro’s customers across industries. This is also a step towards enabling expansion in the future and generating more employment for the locals.

Meanwhile, Wipro has invited applications from fresh engineering graduates for its Elite National Talent Hunt hiring programme. Those engineering students, who are Indian citizens and who will complete their course in 2022 will be eligible. The tech major is expected to offer more than 30,000 offer letters to freshers this year, who will join in financial year 2023. It is expected that of these 30,000, about 22,000 freshers will join.

Registrations for this hiring programme are already underway, and will continue till September 15, 2021. Once registered, the candidates will be assessed online, starting September 25. The 128-minute long online assessment will test the candidates’ logical and quantitative abilities, command over the English (verbal) language, written communication skills and programming/coding skills. Post online assessment, a business discussion will take place. Based on the performance, an LoI will be issued, after which an offer letter will be issued.
