With the Government all set to develop the information technology (IT) sector in Visakhapatnam, as many as 50,000 jobs are expected to be created in this sector in the city, this year.

Many IT companies are keen to set up units in the city, and the Government itself wishes to focus on talented human capital. A new and more transparent IT policy will also be rolled out soon.

With the objective of promoting talented human capital in Andhra Pradesh, a skill university is proposed to be set up, along with 26 skill centres and four centres of excellence. Measures are being taken to bridge the gap between big and small organisations and create equal opportunities for all.

Given the presence of many good universities and engineering colleges in the region, Visakhapatnam is already generating over 14 per cent of Andhra Pradesh’s GDP and also boasts of a vast talent pool.

With Visakhapatnam being made the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh, more industries are bound to be set up here, increasing employment opportunities. Arrangements will be made to appoint relevant officers to coordinate with all government departments to facilitate rapid approvals for various projects.

The Government will be honouring the agreements that organisations had entered into with the previous government, and the due incentives, amounting to about Rs 4,600 crore will be paid soon.
