Employment opportunities in the telecom sector in 2023 will go up following the introduction of 5G. With about 50 Indian towns already enjoying 5G, and most of the country to follow suit in the next two years, that is, by 2025, job prospects in the telecom sector seem to be bright.
Both technical skills and non-niche skills will be in high demand says a report by a global workforce solutions and staffing company.
The year 2022 already witnessed about 20 per cent growth in the demand for talent possessing knowledge of telecom technology, as compared to the previous year.
The report says that the hiring will also increase in the retail, manufacturing, healthcare and automotive sectors as they will scale up their services and offerings in line with 5G.
In the non-telecom fields, the demand will be more for data scientists and cybersecurity professionals.
The demand for techies in the telecom sector and associated areas witnessed a 15-20 per cent surge in demand in 2022. It is estimated that the trend will continue in 2023 and that there may actually be at least a 25 per cent surge in demand.
At least 10 per cent of the higher remuneration packages are being offered in the the areas of cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science, and data analytics.
