HCL Technologies’ Lucknow centre, which is its largest campus in North India, is all set to expand its workforce by 50 per cent in a year’s time. The information technology company, which presently has 4000 employees, aims to have a 6000-strong workforce at the facility by March, 2021.

Within the next two months itself, the Company expects to hire 500 professionals. The Lucknow centre, which caters to more than a hundred global clients, most of whom are based in the US, has been growing steadily, and has several projects to be handled.

Established in 2016 as part of the Company’s efforts to create opportunities in the smaller cities of the country, HCL Lucknow covers an area of more than 100 acres, and offers a wide range of services — infrastructure management, application development, product engineering, BPO and HCL internal-enabling functions.

Till date, the Company, which proudly claims that 95 per cent of the workforce in Lucknow belongs to the state of Utter Pradesh itself, has invested about Rs 500 crore in the facility and is open to investing more in the future. Alos, 23 per cent of the present workforce comprises women, proving that the Company has not let the diversity agenda out of sight.

The Lucknow campus’ Arya Bhatt Training Centre has already trained hundreds of candidates and very soon, another training centre with the capacity to train an additional 500 will become operational.
