Hilti, a company that designs and manufactures cutting-edge technologies, software and services for professional construction services, has roped in AkzoNobel’s Devika Tandon as head of human resources.

In this role, Tandon will head the people strategy of the firm, managing talent acquisition, people development and employee engagement.

Prior to this role, Tandon was heading the HR function for commercial and R&D teams at AkzoNobel India. She managed HR for the sales and marketing teams and the R&D department. In this role, she made an impact in sales performance and partnered closely with business leaders to solve people solutions.

Having joined AkzoNobel in 2017, Tandon  spent more than five years with the company. As the regional lead for L&D, she successfully led the function for 4000 employees in the IMEA (India, Middle East and Africa) region and worked with the HR director to drive the learning culture in the organisation.

Tandon started her career at Right Management, an HR consultancy firm, where she partnered with clients delivering projects on leadership development, cultural integration and change management. She went on to become a consultant in the organisation, leading projects in different areas of HR, serving clients across sectors in India, Singapore and Sri Lanka. After working with Right for close to four years, Tandon moved on to Religare as senior manager OD (organisational development) and L&D.

In her four-year stint at Religare, she served her last position as the AVP-HR, in which she played a crucial role in managing talent and leadership development. In these roles, she helped the company revamp its talent-management programmes.

Tandon also spent more than three years with Cairn Oil & Gas, where she initially joined as lead, talent management, OD and employee engagement and then moved up to lead the talent management and learning function.

Backed by almost 16 years of experience in the HR field, Tandon has worked across HR consultancy, BFSI, oil & gas and paints & coatings sectors.
