Ecom Express ropes in Prashant Khullar as its new CHRO

Ecom Express, has appointed Prashant Khullar as its chief human resources officer (CHRO). Khullar has announced his new position on social media, stating that he is excited to begin his role as the CHRO at Ecom Express.

At Ecom Express Khullar will be managing a team of over 50,000 employees with a team of over 200 HR professionals.

Khullar is an experienced HR leader who brings over two decades of expertise on the table. He’s well-known for his strong interpersonal, communication skills, and streamlining & balancing HR processes to achieve bottom-line results giving organisations a competitive edge.

He has worked with many companies such as Max Life Insurance Company, Mahindra Holidays, and The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL). Before joining Ecom Express, he was also running his own venture known as the ‘nerv2serv Learning Company.’
His last stint was with Max Life Insurance Company where he was associated with the company for over three years as its senior vice president-HR. At MAX Life, Khullar was responsible for overseeing various HR functions such as employee experience, talent acquisition, total rewards, compensation & benefits, HR operations, digital HR & technology, future leaders program, POSH and employee relations. He was also recognised as a ‘Customer Champion’ by the CEO of the organisation for implementing innovative employee experiences and modern people practices.

His longest stint was with The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) where he worked with the organisation for close to ten years. He joined the company in May 2005 as the head L&D at their Taj Leisure Hotels, and led people through L&D functions within 30 hotels under the Taj leisure hotels division. In April 2008, Khullar was then elevated to the role of general manager & head HR at their Gateway Hotels, where he managed the workforce of more than 4000 employees across Taj Gateway Hotels and introduced the upscale Gateway Hotels brand in 2008 for IHCL, generating a revenue of over 500 crores. After successful 5 years, Khullar was ten appointed as the director HR for Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces in February 2013. There he managed 10,000 employees across the Taj Hotels and Taj Safari Lodges, which includes the flagship Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, and was responsible for overall HR function with key focus on coaching, mentoring & leadership development, organisational structure & development, innovative employee engagement & employee relations.

Khullar began his professional journey in the hospitality industry as a management intern for hotel operations at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts after earning an MBA from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research.
