Nick Williams, serving as the group director-human resources, Gist, a company specialising in supply-chain transformation, will join Uniserve in Januray 2024. Williams shared about his new role through a post on LinkedIn.
Williams is a seasoned HR professional, backed by over two years of global experience. His expertise lies in specialised HR areas including compensation, retirement benefits, organisational development, talent management, hiring, employment regulations and relations with unions and employees.
In his last stint with Gist, he was associated with the company for two years as its group director-HR. He was also an integral member of the group executive committee, overseeing HR, industrial relations, communications, and media, managing 7,000 employees across 30 sites in the UK, Republic of Ireland, France, Czech Republic, Netherlands, and the US. He has also worked with several other organisations such as Sysco, Wincanton and Tesco.
Known for his thoughtful and collaborative style, his approach is marked by a keen sense of commerciality and business awareness, coupled with previous experience in successfully overseeing profit and loss responsibilities.
His longest stint was with Tesco where he spent over 11 years. He joined the company in 2005 as its executive reward analyst, retail HR manager, group resourcing manager. Before moving to Wincanton, he was serving the company as its country HR director (retail, tech / e-com).
Williams expressed that he had enjoyed a fulfilling and gratifying experience at Gist over the past few years. He expressed immense pride in having guided a robust, capable, and commercially-oriented HR team through a noteworthy phase of business transformation and ownership transition.
