Heena Naithani has been appointed head – human resources, for Airtel Business, Bharti Airtel. She moves from Citi India, where she was vice president – human resources. An alumna of Management Development Institute, Naithani has over 14 years of experience working in the HR domain.

Having started off as a summer intern with IBM back in 2006, Naithani’s first major stint was at Essar from 2007 to 2010, where she joined as deputy manager – HR. At the time of leaving Essar, she was manager – global talent acquisition.

Her next stop was Citi India, where she joined as manager – talent management and development. Over a period of a decade, she climbed up the ranks to become vice president – human resources, a post she successfully held for three years and nine months. Her responsibilities included HR partnership to drive business objectives, ensuring seamless employee life cycle process, developing talent and building a performance-driven culture. She is also credited with employee life cycle process standardisation and efficiency initiatives. In between, for a short time, she was in Bahrain setting up the CitiPhone business there. While there, she handled organisation structure, manpower planning, sourcing and selection plan, employee value proposition, and training framework. She also launched the ‘Live well’ initiative, to promote a culture of healthcare and wellness for employee wellbeing.

In her new role at Airtel, this Economics (Hons) graduate from Miranda House, will help to drive people-transformation and ensure that the workforce feels valued and engaged.
