    Jacob Peter elevated to VP-HR, MRF

    Jacob Peter has been elevated to vice president and head – human resources, MRF, based out of Chennai. Peter had moved to MRF in 2021 from Sterling Holiday Resorts, where he was chief human resource officer for over three years.

    A trained marketing professional, he began his career in sales and business development, before moving to HR consulting after a decade.

    Having completed an MBA in marketing from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, in 1996, Peter began his professional journey with Microland, as account manager. For the next two years, he learnt sales and key account management from the best managers in the business.

    From 1998 to 2000, he served as branch manager at GE Capital, based out of Bengaluru. He helped establish the asset financing business in Chennai and Bengaluru with special focus on financing new equipment. A short stint of less than two years later, he moved to Sun Microsystems, as national sales manager. There, he worked in multiple roles across sales, partner management and product management during his tenure of almost six years.

    His next stop was Dal FryDay, a restaurant of Peterz Hospitality, Bengaluru, where he served as director, for almost four years.

    In 2006, he joined Hay Group as senior consultant and country manager, Hay Direct. Based out of New Delhi, he was responsible for developing the productised services business for Hay Group in India for four years.

    It was in 2010 that Peter joined KPMG India as director, people and change management consulting, based out of Mumbai. For over four years, he was responsible for driving business development in the Middle East and Africa in addition to West and South India. By 2015, he was promoted to the position of executive director – strategic services group, based out of Bengaluru.

    From 2016 to 2017, he served Future Consumer as chief people officer, before moving to Sterling Resorts in 2018.

    It was in 2021 that he joined MRF as senior general manager – HRS. In less than two years he was elevated to vice president and head – human resources and services.

    Known to mix practical experience with proper evidence and research, Peter’s latest promotion will see him heading HR as vice president.
