In her second stint with the company, Sagar will lead and execute the people strategy for its people-aligned transformation

Kannika Sagar has joined HCL Infosystems as chief people officer. She has moved in from Aon Hewitt, where she was part of the India leadership team with an additional responsibility to head talent for Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa consulting.

At HCL Infosystems, Sagar will be responsible for the people strategy, as the company builds further momentum on its transformation pillars.

Speaking on the appointment, Premkumar, executive vice-chairman and managing director, HCL Infosystems, says, “Our people strategy forms the core of our growth plans, and therefore, it was important that we entrust this to a professional, whose experience and credentials across HR consulting, strategy and execution is in line with our focus on people-aligned transformation. We are confident that Sagar will bring the desired energy and value to her role.”

Sagar has a global career, spanning over two decades, across technology, FMCG and consulting, with a multidimensional people perspective.

Interestingly, this is Sagar’s second stint with HCL. She started her career with the organisation in 1994 as management trainee, following completion of her PG Diploma from XLRI. After spending a good three years at HCL, she moved on to Arvind Mills as HR manager for the yarn division.

Sagar’s next destination was Cadbury, where she joined as HR manager in 1999 but moved up the ladder taking on international roles in the seven years that she spent there.

In October 2006, she joined Aon Hewitt as project director.
