Landmark Group’s Sandiep Batra is now CHRO, Adani Airports

Adani Airports has roped in Sandiep Batra as the new CHRO. Batra, who previously headed the people strategy function for Landmark Group as the group CHRO, will now lead the HR function for Adani Airports Holding.

Batra carries more than two decades of experience as an HR professional. In the initial phase of his career, Batra started as a commissioned officer in the Indian Army, where he spent more than five years looking after the welfare of close to 700 soldiers and leading equipment-management activities.

It was in 1999 that he decided to join the corporate sector and took charge as the assistant general manager – HR at Sona Koyo Steering Systems, an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and supplier to many large car manufacturers in India. At Sona, Batra was responsible for corporate HR initiatives for more than 1700 employees.

After spending four years at Sona, Batra moved on to join Cendant Corporation, a global travel services firm, as AVP-HR and head – HR for quality. At Cendant, Batra was responsible for all facets of HR in the company, from recruitment and talent management to performance. Batra also spent two years at Bharti Teletech as its chief HR and quality officer.

In 2008,  Batra joined Vodafone (now Vodafone Idea) as head – HR for corporate and HRBP, for technology and support functions. In this role, he spent more than five years, and was involved in HR business partnering. He spent close to 10 years with the firm and was also part of the merger and acquisition process at Vodafone when the company decided to merge with Idea. Batra served his last position as EVP-head HR for enterprise business, digital and technology, before moving on to Landmark Group in 2020.

Batra holds a post graduate diploma in HRM from the Institute of Management Technology and a BCom from University of Delhi.
