Manish Sinha, who was senior vice president – human resources, Mahindra & Mahindra Automotive, has been elevated to CHRO, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services. Indrajeet Sengupta has been chosen to step into Sinha’s shoes.

Sinha, an alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur, had joined Mahindra & Mahindra in February 2020. He began his professional journey as officer – HR, with Hero Hondo Motors in 1998. Two years later, he moved to Apollo Tyres, associate manager – HR, based out of Gurugram.

His next stop was PepsiCo, where he served as sales HR manager from 2004 to 2006, and then got promoted to GM – Plant HR in 2007. By 2009, he was HR leader – West Market Unit, based out of Mumbai. By the time he moved on from PepsiCo in 2011, after a successful seven-year long tenure, he was head – organisation capability.

From 2011 to 2012, he served as organisation and talent development leader, GE Energy, India region. A year into this role, he moved to GE Oil & Gas as head – HR, South Asia. By 2014, he had been elevated to global HR business partner.

The year 2016 saw Sinha wearing the hat of vice president – HR & head of global operations, Sun Pharma. After two and a half years in this role, he switched to Lear Corporation as country HR director – India.

Indrajeet Sengupta, will be taking over from Sinha next month, that is, June 2023. He moves from Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, where he was executive director and chief human resources officer since 2018.

An alumnus of the Xavier Institute of Social Science, Sengupta has also worked with GE for about 10 years. First he was with GE India for four years, with his last role being that of HR manager. In 1999, he moved to GE Healthcare as HR manager for five years. In 2005, he became HR leader for GE Infrastructure. After a short stint of eight months, he was back with GE Healthcare as head of compensation and benefits – Asia Pacific.

In 2008, Sengupta moved on from the GE Group to Mars, as director – HR & communication, based out of Hyderabad.

Sengupta’s next stop was Johnson & Johnson, where he joined as director – HR, medical devices India; HR partner – diabetes care & IT, Asia Pacific in 2010. By 2015, he was elevated to CHRO – J&J India & South Asia. After a successful stint of a little less than eight years, Sengupta moved to Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages as executive director and CHRO.

In his new role as senior VP and CPO, automotive sector, he will be based out of Mumbai. HRKatha wishes both Sinha and Sengupta all the best in their endeavours.
