Nicole Gray is being elevated to the position of senior vice president and chief human resources officer, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, starting 1 July.
Gray’s association with the tire company began in 2016, when she joined as legal counsel, labour and employment, based out of Cleveland, Ohio. By 2019, she had been elevated to the role of senior legal counsel and director-HR. Two years into this role, she was elevated once again, following which she became vice president HR, global corporate functions and senior legal counsel. Since last year, that is 2023, she has been playing vice president, HR global corporate functions & strategic business initiatives, senior legal counsel.
A political science and psychology graduate from Boston College, Gray is also an alumna of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
From 2002 to 2006, she was the assistant county prosecutor, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office.
From 2006 to 2016, Nicole Gray was partner, labour and employment, McDonald Hopkins. For ten years there, she specialised in employer counselling and litigation defense.
She will be stepping into the shoes of Gary VanderLind who will retire after almost four decades of association with Goodyear, having begun as part of the company-owned retail business and then getting into human resources. During his tenure, he helped build organisational capability and engagement across the firm’s plants and businesses.
