Nirav Jagad, ex-CHRO, Nykaa, is now CHRO of LEAD School

Jagad is backed by 20 years of professional experience as an HR leader and a consultant

Nirav Jagad, former CHRO of Nykaa, has been appointed as the CHRO of LEAD, a leading player in India’s K-12 education sector.

Till March 2021, Jagad was serving as the CHRO of Nykaa, the lifestyle retailer of beauty, wellness and fashion products, whic he joined in 2017. In his new role at LEAD, Jagad will be leading the EdTech company’s agenda to enhance its growth culture and values. He will be responsible for spearheading employee engagement, talent management, talent development, stakeholder engagement, internal communication, compliance, as well as health and safety environment at LEAD.

Thrilled at his appointment, Jagad says “It is a great opportunity to be part of a fast-evolving industry, such as EdTech. The problem statement that ‘LEAD’ is attempting to solve is challenging, but a hugely engaging one. I look forward to contributing to the Company’s growth journey.”

Jagad has a total work experience of 20 years working in multiple sectors, including education, consultancy, financial services and e-commerce.

In his two-decade long career, he has worked with companies such as Emmay HR, IL&FS, Welingkar Institute of Management and Cerebrus Consultants.

On completing his MBA in human resource management from Welingkar Institute of Management, Jagad started his career as a faculty member at Welingkar itself.

After that, Jagad worked at Emmay HR Services as an HR advisor and consultant for four years.

Moving on, in 2009, he joined Cerebrus Consultants as a senior consultant and worked with them for about three years.

In the year 2012, he joined IL&FS, as the group head of talent development and organisational transformation. It was here that he honed his skills to emerge as a worthy HR leader over his five-year long tenure.

A commerce postgraduate from the University of Mumbai, Jagad’s appointment is yet another step in LEAD’s attempt to strengthen its leadership team. The Edtech company recently hired Arpit Mundra as chief financial officer and Vipul Redey as chief excellence officer.
