After over nine years with Onward Technologies, Sujata Singh has been promoted to chief human resources officer (CHRO). She has been associated with the software and technology-services outsourcing company since 2017 when she took up the role of senior vice president and global HR head. Over four years into this role came her first promotion that made her executive vice president and global head-human resources in April of 2022.
Backed by well over two decades of experience, Singh has come a long way having begun as a management trainee with Lupin Pharmaceuticals, in 1998. A year later she moved to Bakeman’s Industries as assistant manager-HR, inducting new recruits, identifying training needs and looking into separation and exit interviews among other responsibilities.
Singh’s next stop was Datamatics Global Services where she served as manager-recruitment for a little less than three years before taking up the role of manager-HR at MOSL, in 2005. Till 2008, she was busy handling recruitment, vendor management, employee satisfaction, grievance resolution and discipline management among other things.
Bharat Business Channel roped her in to play manager-HR in August of 2008. By 2010, she switched to Neilsoft as corporate HR manager.
From 2012 to 2014 she served as group manager-HR at WNS Global Services before heading HR for Aker Powergas Subsea for almost three years.
With her latest elevation at Onward Technologies, she will primarily focus on building capabilities and nurturing the kind of culture required for the next phase of growth.
Singh’s promotion to CHRO reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its people strategy as it scales. With over two decades of diverse HR experience across industries, she brings both operational depth and strategic perspective to the role.
HRKatha wishes Sujata Singh all the best as she tries to create a more human centred employee experience that empowers people to bring their best selves to work.
