Sameer Nagarajan has joined Cadila Pharmaceuticals as the global president – HR, based out of Ahmedabad. He was previously heading human resources at Dabur International, in Dubai.

With expertise in strategic business partnering to deliver organisational outcomes, Nagarajan is driven by a passion for people and performance. He is particularly interested in organisation efficiency and talent management. His other areas of interest include personal growth, leadership development, learning and employee relations. He has a wide inter-cultural experience spanning Asia, Europe, Africa and the US.

Nagarajan’s early career stints include working as an HR manager at Microland for one year, followed by a four-year stint with A F Ferguson & Co as a senior consultant.

In 1995, he joined Hindustan Unilever, where he was involved in organisation restructuring, performance management and capability development for almost eight years. His last held designation at HUL was that of head-HR, Modern Foods. He moved to BPB India Gypsum, as HR manager, Asia for three years, before joining AstraZeneca Pharma India in 2006, as VP-HR.

He then joined Unilever Sri Lanka, in 2007. By May 2015, he had become the director-HR and corporate relations, based out of Colombo. This was probably his longest stint spanning over nine and a half years.

It was in October 2016 that he joined Dabur International, Dubai as head-HR.

In his new role at Cadila, he will focus on leadership development and talent management.

Nagarajan completed his MBA in human resources from XLRI Jamshedpur in 1988. He is a commerce graduate from Madras Christian College and a qualified MBTI facilitator, with a keen interest in applied behavioural science.
