    After a successful 16-year long tenure at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, Saptarshi Bhattacharya has joined Motilal Oswal Private Equity as executive group vice president and chief people officer (CPO).

    Saptarshi, who holds an MBA in human resources from the Army Institute of Management, Kolkata, began his career with Bajaj Allianz in 2007, as a management trainee.

    Within a year he was elevated to assistant manager HR analytics and talent acquisition. Less than two years later, he was promoted again and became deputy manager – HR analytics and talent acquisition. In this role, among other things he handled all kinds of HR MIS reports such as attrition trends, office and manpower productivity and cost trends, along with manpower budgets for offices across India.

    He also managed Pan India campus recruitment for the firm and drove the performance management system. By 2011, he was heading talent acquisition and HR analytics. Five years later, he was promoted to head – HRBP and HR analytics. Two more promotions later, by 2019, he was head – HR services. Less than three years later, in 2022, he came to head talent acquisition for Bajaj Allianz.

    Known to be a cool, sharp and unpredictable HR leader, Sapta as he is popularly known, will prove to be an asset to Motilal Oswal. HRKatha wishes him all the best for this new chapter in his HR journey.
