Having completed his masters in business administration from Himachal Pradesh University in 1989, Singh embarked on a successful journey. He began his professional career at SJVN as part of the first batch of executive trainees in 1992. Over the course of his 30-year tenure, Singh has amassed comprehensive knowledge in all areas of human resources, holding key positions and contributing to the growth of the organisation.

Singh’s exceptional qualifications extend beyond his formal education. He has actively pursued professional development through participation in advanced national and international training programmes. Notable among these are the global business leadership programme at Amity in New York, modernising the human resources function course at the Royal Institute of Public Administration in London, and various leadership and management programmes at ASCI in Hyderabad.

During his time at SJVN, Singh made remarkable contributions to the company’s HR landscape. He successfully implemented transformative initiatives, such as the integration of a SAP ERP-based HR module and the strategic implementation of a balanced scorecard system.

Singh’s outstanding achievements have not gone unnoticed and  he has been recognised with prestigious awards. He received the esteemed ‘SJVN Star Award 2019’ and the distinguished ‘Award of Honour 2022’ for his exemplary dedication and noteworthy accomplishments.

Now, as he assumes the role of director (personnel) at THDC India, Shallinder Singh is well-positioned to leverage his extensive experience and expertise in human resources.
