    Shashi Prakash Gupta new director-HR, ITI

    As per the order of the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, Shashi Prakash Gupta will assume charge as director, HR, Indian Telephone Industries (ITI), from October 15, 2018.

    Gupta has over three decades of rich experience in different areas of personnel and administration, business excellence and CSR in two integrated steel plants and their respective corporate offices. He has been instrumental in formulating and implementing various HR policies to facilitate a productive work culture at the Steel Authority of India (SAIL).

    Prior to joining ITI, the state-owned manufacturer of telecommunications equipment in India, he has successfully headed industrial engineering and SAIL Uday Transformation and spearheaded several CSR initiatives including skill development through vocational trainings to improve employability for the youth.

    A BTech from REC, Warangal, Gupta also holds an MBA degree from IGNOU, New Delhi.

    ITI is a public-sector undertaking in the telecommunications technology segment. It has manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru, Naini, Rae Bareli, Mankapur and Palakkad. It has a research and development centre in Bengaluru and eight regional offices in India, located at Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and New Delhi. Its diverse suite of products includes defence-security encryption products; optical and data network products and passive infrastructure products, such as gigabit passive optical network and managed leased line products; multi-capacity encryption units, electrical products such as smart energy meters, smart cards, solar panels, set-top boxes and mini personal computers and Internet of Things products. Besides offering telecom solutions and customised support, ITI has a dedicated network system unit for executing turnkey projects for installation and commissioning of telecommunication networks. The Company intends to upgrade and invest in technology, through acquisition of strategic partners with a specific focus on high-growth industry segments. ITI operates a data centre at Bengaluru and currently also offers its services to government institutions/departments, banks, and so on.
