Richard Lobo, the former executive vice president and head-human resources, Infosys, may start his new stint with Tech Mahindra as chief human resources officer (CHRO), starting from January 2024. The company, reportedly, is in talks with the industry veteran.
Lobo is currently engaged as a freelance strategic HR advisor to the edtech unicorn, BYJU’s. His focus areas encompass change management, corporate governance, organisation scaling and enhancing employee experience. He is anticipated to start off in his new position under the leadership of Mohit Joshi, Tech Mahindra’s recently- appointed CEO.
Lobo previously worked alongside Joshi at Infosys, where the latter held the position of president, overseeing various functions such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, life sciences and sales operations.
In August 2023, Lobo concluded his tenure at Infosys, marking over twenty years of dedicated service. This move came in the wake of the appointment of Sushanth Tharappan as the head-HR in July, 2023. Following the organisational changes, Lobo was reassigned to the Special Projects team, where he operates under the leadership of Salil Parekh, CEO, Infosys.
The company (Tech Mahindra) is currently undergoing an internal restructuring plan, discussed during its second-quarter earnings conference last month.
The revised structure departs from Tech Mahindra’s previous geography-focused approach. Now, the emphasis is on a vertical-wise focus for delivery.
This shift also resulted in reshuffling, leading to key leaders assuming new roles, effective 1 January, 2024. Notably, Harshvendra Soin, chief human resources officer (CHRO) and head of marketing, Tech Mahindra, will relocate to Australia to spearhead the consolidated Asia Pacific and Japan business.
