    Yokohama’s Rajeev Singh joins Solara Active Pharma, as CHRO

    Rajeev Singh, who was the CHRO at Yokohama Off Highway Tires, has now entered the pharma space, by joining Solara Active Pharma Sciences as CHRO, sources close to this development confirm to HRKatha. In this new role, which Singh takes up effectively from September 1, he will provide leadership to the HR and CSR function and also be part of the Solara executive team, reporting directly to the MD.

    Singh carries over two decades of experience in HR and has worked in diverse sectors, such as energy, manufacturing and consulting. Known for leading organisational transformation as a progressive HR practitioner, Singh also has experience working in global markets such as the US, the Middle East and the UK.

    After passing out from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences with a master’s degree in personnel management and industrial relations, Singh joined Bharat Petroleum refinery as an HR officer, managing industrial relations for the company in Mumbai. Two years later, he moved to PWC, in 2000, as a senior consultant-HR, where he was advising many companies across industries on various facets of HR, including business restructuring, employee separations schemes, organisation design, change management, HR system & process design, as well as HR operating models.

    Singh spent three years with PWC before moving on to join the BG Group (which is part of Shell now) in the oil and gas sector, as general manager – HR, managing all aspects of HR. In his decade-long stint at the BG Group, he served in various leadership roles in HR, in multiple geographies. Singh has also served as director- HR for Gujarat Gas Company, leading the HR function with a primary focus on progressive change in the firm. It was in 2014 that Singh became the CHRO and president at Welspun Corp., the line pipes business of the company, and spent close to three years there.

    Singh carries a BE degree in metallurgical engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur. He is also certified in strategic HR practices from Cornell University, USA and a Certified Executive Coach from EMCC, UK.
