    Atos plans heavy hiring in its newly opened Vadodara facility

    The global digital services leader has opened a new office in Gujarat, and wishes to tap into the rich talent pool of professionals for its management services operations.

    The third largest city in Gujarat, Vadodara, is gradually becoming a hub for IT and other development projects. Characterised by a steady growth rate, it is only natural for multinational corporations (MNCs) to be eager to set up their bases in the city. Recently, French MNC and industry giant, Atos, announced the opening of is new office here.

    The office was inaugurated by senior vice president and COO, global operations, Peter Pluim, who manages the Company’s Global Delivery, Service Management and Risk- Audit & Compliancy functions.

    Pluim expressed his enthusiasm on the occasion by sharing his views on why they chose Vadodara to be the base of their operations, “With the opening of this new Global Delivery Centre in the city of Vadodara, as Atos Managed Services, we reinforce our commitment to India as one of our key elements in ensuring optimised and high-quality delivery to our clients.”

    Opening an office in a tier II city isn’t new for Atos. Previously, the ompany started an establishment in Pune, in January 2012.

    Milind Kamat, EVP and CEO, Atos India, shared the future goals and aspirations of the company, “We are working on growing the India market. Currently, 25 per cent of our revenue is from the local market. We decided to come to Vadodara because of the good infrastructure, well-known education centre, rich talent pool and close proximity to key economic centre and our operations in Mumbai and Pune. Vadodara offers a good ecosystem for an emerging destination for IT-BPM sector.”

    The new facility is all set to hold over 1000 employees. Out of this, Atos has already hired 300 IT professionals, who are getting inducted in batches. The rest of the 700 vacancies will be filled in the coming 12 months from local talents available in Vadodara and the nearby cities of Gujarat.

    According to Surendrasinh Gohil, SVP for IMEA (India, Middle East & Africa, Vadodara’s talent pool will add to their existing strength, “Vadodara facility will be an enabler to our current MS, that is, IT Infrastructure Management Service, to meet the growing global demand from clients augmenting our present operations spread across major metro cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi-NCR,” he said.
