The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore’s PGP batch of 2019-21 received 481 job offers for 435 students! The entire placement process was held virtually this year. The
maximum offers came from consulting firms which accounted for 165 of the total offers made. Accenture made 45 offers followed by Bain and Company with 24 offers. Other big names that participated included McKinsey which made 18 offers, Boston Consulting Group, which offered 13 jobs, followed by nine from Kearney,10 from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), six from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), four each from Alvarez and Marsal, Arthur D. Little, and IBM Consulting, and two from EY.
About 78 jobs were offered in the information technology sector and 67 in the finance space. About 50 marketing and sales jobs were offered and 47 positions in leadership and general management were up for grabs. American Express made 10 offers for analytics jobs, while EXL and Target Corporation made two in the same domain. Genpact, Natwest Group and WNS Global Services offered operational roles.
Last month, at XLRI witnessed 100 per cent placement, with maximum offers coming from consulting, sales & marketing and BFSI sectors. This year, the placements were held virtually at XLRI too, and about 108 companies participated. While consulting firms made 29 per cent of the offers, 16 per cent offers came from sales and marketing and 14 per cent from the BFSI sector.
