IIT Roorkee’s top 50% management students get an average package of Rs 10.7 lakh PA

Out of the 80 students, 71 got placed this year, while nine opted out of the placement process to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

IIT Roorkee’s Department of Management Studies (DMS), which completed 20 years has had two good years in terms of final placement.

In the current batch, that is 2016–18, the top 50 per cent took home an average package of Rs 10.7 lakh per annum. Companies, such as KPMG, Dunnhumby, HDFC, ICICI and Bristlecone hired students for analytics, consulting, sales, pre-sales, marketing, operations and finance profiles. Out of the 80 students, 71 got placed this year, while nine opted out of the placement process to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

For the previous year’s batch of 2015–17, there were 57 students out of which 53 got placed. The average package for the top five per cent was Rs 10.24 lakh, while the highest CTC was Rs 14.5 lakh per annum. The average package for the entire batch was Rs 9.18 lakh per annum. Some of the companies that recruited from IIT Roorkee’s DMS or Department of Management Studies include Amazon, VKL Spices and Patanjali.

IIT Roorkee’s DMS claims to be ranked #9 among the top management institutes category in the India Rankings 2018, conducted by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development, and Government of India.

The Institute has been ranked the second best institute in the country in terms of research, professional practice & collaborative performance (RPC) parameters.
