Hike, India’s homegrown internet startup, announced the hiring of Suvesh Malhotra as its VP & Head of Engineering, today. The announcement is in line with Hike’s vision of enabling a new social future by leveraging advanced technology. Suvesh, a seasoned technology professional, comes with over 15 years of experience in leading and implementing innovative technology solutions for businesses. Prior to this, Suvesh has been SVP, Technology at OYO Hotels & Homes leading consumer-facing technology, Head of Technology at Amazon for BuyVIP, and CTO at StepOut. His expertise with building large scale distributed systems, mobile apps, ML-based systems, social network, eCommerce platforms, and IoT technologies, will add to the company’s efforts towards innovating at the intersection of Art, AI & consumer delight.

In his new role, Suvesh would be looking after all things technology and engineering making it a core differentiator for Hike and enabling a seamless social experience for Hike users. In his previous stints, Suvesh has been SVP, Technology at OYO Hotels & Homes leading consumer-facing technology, Head of Technology at Amazon for BuyVIP, flash sales e-commerce platform, CTO at StepOut, a startup building social products in India and similar stints at Homeshop18 and Oracle.
Suvesh’s appointment is a continuation of the company’s recent announcements of leadership hires & multiple hiring initiatives, as Hike focuses on growth & innovation. The company had recently announced the hiring of Seema Chawla as VP & Head of Marketing. Hike continues to hire for positions across teams and functions. Having mastered the key to remote work and recently gone Remote-First for all of 2020, Hike is now open to hiring remote talent as well. Hike has also initiated virtual hiring events as part of its ZeroTo2 program focused on onboarding young talent from colleges.
