Verghese Cherian has been named the director, human resources, at the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).
Prior to this, Cherian was heading the Indian Oil Institute of Petroleum Management, Gurgaon, the top training centre of the organisation. He has served as general manager at the IOCL, Panipat refinery in the past. In his career at IOCL, which spans 30 years, Cherian has held many important portfolios, across the length and breadth of the country in varying socio-cultural environments.
Having joined IOCL in 1982, he has contributed to training, recruitment, performance management, industrial relations, employee services and welfare administration, SAP as well as HR Module development/customisation in the company. He has worked across refinery units, divisional headquarters, R&D centres and also corporate training.
Cherian completed his degree in English from the Madras Christian College in 1978, following which he pursued his postgraduation in social work with a specialisation in personnel management, from the Madras School of Social Work.

This is an appeal of a retired IOCL employee and I like to bring this subject to the notice of HR Director at IOCL for consideration as per details given below:
Return of differential amount to Pension Fund calculated on actual salary vis-à- vis on ceiling amount and granting the benefit (pension) of the proviso to clause 11(3) of Pension Scheme(EPS) in view of Judgement of Hon’ble Supreme Court dtd 31.3.2016, 12.7.2016 and 4.10.2016. My PPO No, is MP/BPL/00023758 and am getting monthly pension from EPFO @ Rs 2357/- w.e.f. 01.08.2014. I have already wrote a letter to EPF Sub Regional Office 59, Arera Hills, Bhopa on 23.8.2017l. Kindly help in this matter.
