    General Electric elevates Amaresh Singh to CHRO, South Asia

    Multinational conglomerate, General Electric Company, will be expanding its South Asian operations under a new chief human resource officer, Amaresh Singh, who has been working with the Company since 2015. Singh will now take up the additional responsibility of leading the GE Grid Solution’s HR team in South Asia.

    Singh took to Linkedin, admitting his excitement at “the opportunity to drive business impact. Our HR team in the South Asia region is focused on taking the organisation to the next phase of consolidation and growth.”

    Singh looks forward to “building inclusion, diversity and equity as core to the organisation where individuals from all background feel valued.” He hopes to be able to “embed lean practices deep into the culture” and “help grow GE leaders who can take on ever increasing and global responsibilities and drive lasting impact.”

    A graduate in law and a postgraduate in HRM from the University of Allahabad, Singh started his career as an IR manager with Escorts in 1992. Four years later, he joined BPL as HR manager for over four years. In 2001, he joined Alstom as HR manager. In his 14 successful years at Alstom, he grew to become the country HR director, a post he essayed for over six years, before joining GE Power India in 2015.

    After four years as executive HRBP, he moved on to become HR leader, GE Grid Solutions South Asia and global HR Grid Technology in 2019.

    Backed by 25 years of experience, this certified life coach will step into the shoes of Sheebu David who is moving on from GE.
