Having set up its global capability centre or GCC in Bangalore, the American luxury retailer, Neiman Marcus Group (NMG) is now gearing to expand its India team by 600.

Over a period of eight months to a year, the Company will hire quality talent that will help it deliver high-quality experiences.

Presently, the GCC has a team strength of about 60.

In June 2021, the Group, which also owns the Bergdorf Goodman brand, had revealed its plans to invest $500 million in technology over a period of three years, as part of an exercise to improve efficiency and update its stores.

The investment is being made with focus on sustainable growth by employing digital commerce to improve customer relations.

The Company realises that India is a tech talent hub, and therefore, the ideal location for a GCC. It hopes to attract the best talent in the country, which will help it deliver extraordinary experiences to its customers worldwide.

Not only will the global capacity centre at Bangalore help support and develop the primary customer app, but it will also help support an app meant for its sales executives. The team at the GCC will also look into cybersecurity and cloud initiatives.

While technology appears to be the focus for the Company right now, other business functions will also be developed in the times to come.

The brands Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Last Call and Horchow are all owned by NMG.
