On the occasion of the 150th year of PwC in India, the professional services firm has revealed its plans to expand its team over the next five years, or even less.

The Company continues to work towards ensuring a challenging and holistic work environment for its people, with focus on diversity, upskilling and equal growth opportunities.

As part of its growth plans, the Company expects to hire 10,000 people across its network of firms over a period of less than five years. The priority areas for hiring will be emerging technologies, including cloud, digital, analytics and cyber technologies.

Sanjeev Krishnan, chairman, PwC in India, admits that the Company has learnt a lot in the past century and a half and has “taken those learnings to become stronger, more focused and better positioned to deliver on our purpose of solving important problems and building a strong culture of respect, inclusion and transparency.”

Today, PwC in India has offices across the country offering a range of professional services to its clients. Having posted 22 per cent YoY revenue growth in the last fiscal, it has been investing in the areas of technology and management consulting, risk and deals, including organic acquisitions to deepen existing problem-solving capabilities and add scale.

It has opened three new offices this year in trying to expand its reach and tap the Indian talent pool.

“Armed with our new strategy, we remain relentlessly focused on playing our part in realising India’s ambition of becoming a USD 5 trillion dollar economy,” said Krishnan.

He added, “We look forward to collaborating with our clients, our people and the larger stakeholder ecosystem to create the virtuous cycle between earning trust and delivering sustained outcomes necessary for our country to emerge as a global leader”.
