Tenable, the cyber exposure management company has appointed Patricia Grant as chief information officer (CIO). She was earlier VP-IT strategy and operations at ServiceNow, where she spent over five years.

Backed by almost three decades of experience, Grant began her career journey with short stints, first with Sarcom and then with SunTrust Bank, in 1994 and 1996, respectively.

In 1997, she joined Oracle, as senior infrastructure specialist (PeopleSoft), in Atlanta. Over the next eight odd years, she steadily climbed the corporate ladder to become director – enterprise programme management office and business operations. She reported to the CIO to build a global programme-management office, as part of the acquisition of PeopleSoft.

In 2008, she joined the board of directors at Aina Nalu, the Outrigger Hotels property in Hawaii, as board secretary.

Her next stop was Symantec, where she spent what was probably the longest stint of her career till date. She joined as director – global infrastructure services – IT business operations in 2006. A little over a year into the role, she was elevated to senior director – IT engineering and service management. Her next elevation saw her becoming senior director, e-business services – global PMO & PC tools infrastructure support. Within two years, she was again promoted, and took on the role of senior director – IT mergers and acquisitions. By 2017, she had become senior director – communication, collaboration and productivity services.

After almost 11 years at Symantec, it was time for Grant to move on. She joined ServiceNow in 2017, as senior director – IT, Now-on-Now. She worked closely with the product organisation and the senior leadership, along with the marketing organisation to support events and the Company’s .com presence. A few promotions later, in 2021, she became VP- IT strategy and operations.

During her tenure, she built the ‘Women in Tech’ programme–an internal mentorship group dedicated to empowering women in the industry, and served as a mentor and advocate.

Before joining Tenable, she was also member of Chief — a private network that strengthens the leadership journey of senior women leaders ? for a brief period.

In her new assignment at Tenable, Grant will drive digital transformation, innovation and modernisation to support the Company’s ambitious business objectives.

Given Grant’s “proven track record”, Amit Yoran, chairman and CEO, Tenable, is confident that her ability to build “high-functioning programmes will help further accelerate our growth and profitability.”

Grant is looking forward to her responsibilities, and hopes she can “help translate the company’s vision and strategies into transformational action, driving efficiency and innovation.”

Around 40,000 organisations around the globe rely on Tenable to understand and reduce cyber risk.
