    86.4% organisations likely to embrace digital platforms & apps by 2027

    About 86.4 per cent of the companies surveyed are likely to adopt digital platforms and apps in the next five years, as per the World Economic Forum’s ‘Future of Jobs’ report. About 80.9 per cent companies are likely to adopt education and workforce-development technologies, while 80 per cent companies will adopt big data analytics.

    Internet of Things and connected devices are likely to be embraced by 76.8 per cent of companies surveyed, while 76.6 per cent will embrace cloud computing.

    Encryption and cyber security rank sixth, with 75.6 per cent of companies ready to adopt these technologies, followed by 75.3 per cent adopting e-commerce and digital trade and 74.9 per cent adopting artificial intelligence technologies.

    About 64.5 per cent will go for environmental management technologies, while 62.8 per cent will adopt climate-mitigating technologies. These are followed by text, image and voice processing technologies (61.8 per cent) and augmented and virtual reality (59.1 per cent). Power storage and generation technologies are likely to be adopted by 52.1 per cent companies. In 14th position is the electric and autonomous vehicles technology, likely to be adopted by 51.5 per cent companies, and last comes the robots or non-humanoids that are likely to be adopted by 51.3 per cent organizations in the next five years.

    Big data analytics, climate change and environmental management technologies, and encryption and cybersecurity are expected to be the biggest drivers of job growth.

    The electronics and chemical and advanced materials industries are planning to adopt more technologies than average, while the employment services, insurance and pension management, and real estate industries are the least likely to adopt new technologies.

    About 93 per cent of oil and gas companies are likely to adopt environmental-management technology, followed by chemical and advanced materials (88 per cent) and production of consumer goods (86 per cent).

    When it comes to robots, the electronics (83 per cent), energy technology and utilities (72 per cent), and consumer goods (71 per cent) industries are likely to be the leading embracers

    As per reports from the International Federation of Robotics, the number of industrial robots per 10,000 workers has been increasing rapidly in the last five years, wordwide.
