Bimaplan, the Indian embedded-insurance platform has appointed Anurag Mishra as its chief executive officer. He moves from International Finance Corporation (IFC) where his association had lasted almost 14 years.

Anurag Mishra, an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University, holds an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, MLSU. He served Standard Chartered Bank for well over 15 years, having joined the bank in 1996. In March of 2007, he was promoted from being director, corporate and institutional banking, working out of Mumbai, to chief executive officer, based out of Nepal.

October of 2011 saw Anurag Mishra begin a long stint with IFC, where he managed complex portfolios across emerging markets, developed strategic partnerships, and implemented innovative financing solutions to support trade and economic development, among other responsibilities.

Mishra has been taken on for the role of CEO at a time when Bimapalan is sharpening its focus on profitability and accelerating expansion into global markets.

Following the successful launch of its first international programme in Zambia, the company is now actively expanding across the Middle East and Africa.

Mishra’s “deep expertise in financial services and emerging markets makes him the ideal partner for Bimaplan’s next phase of growth,” said Vikul Goyal, founder of Bimaplan. He expects Mishra to “drive operational excellence and business expansion”.

Backed by three decades of experience, Anurag Mishra is looking forward “to leveraging my experience to forge strategic partnerships and navigate regulatory landscapes across key emerging markets.” HRKatha wishes him all the best in this endeavour!
