Tata AIA Life Insurance’s ‘Raksha ka teeka’ campaign has tasted success, with 99 per cent of the workforce being vaccinated with at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The Company has managed to achieve this over the last two months.

The Company has been spreading awareness about the significance of vaccination through various platforms, reaching out to not just employees, but also customers and advisors and other stakeholders.

Camps were conducted across India at various Tata Group companies, which is why there was no vaccine shortage, and all above 45 have received the first dose.

Employees have been receiving all possible support from Tata AIA Life for their physical, emotional and financial well-being. This includes pre and post-care, emergency services, financial assistance, vaccination, creating awareness and communication of protocols, addressing emotional and physical well-being, providing medical infrastructure support, and so on.

The cost of vaccination for all employees was covered by the Company and employees could avail of a day’s leave for each dose.

Through the Covid Kavach policy, the Company covered the hospitalisation expenses of not just the employees but their spouses for Rs 1 lakh each. The Group Mediclaim cover under Group Term Life Insurance was increased to Rs 7 lakhs for employees, spouses and up to two children. Additionally, in case of death, insurance has been provided up to six times the annual salary of the employee. An advance of Rs 50,000 was also given to employees who needed help to handle immediate medical expenses.

Quarantine facilities were arranged for needy employees at Ginger hotels and about 45 other isolation centres across the country. In collaboration with Fortis hospitals, employees were offered Care@Home packages. Support in the form of oxygen cylinders and RT-PCR kits were also made available.

E-consultation with doctors was made possible through a Practo PLUS health plan, which also facilitated digital prescriptions, home sample collection for medical tests and home delivery of medicines at discounted prices.

Tata AIA Life’s tie-up with Curefit provides employees with a range of wellness programmes, including fitness and yoga, healthy meals, mental wellbeing and primary care.

The employees themselves rolled out an Employee Crowd Funding initiative in partnership with GoCrowdera to support certain extraordinary situations for staff and their families.

Kristyl Bhesania, executive vice president and head of HR, Tata AIA Life, acknowledges that the employees “stood by us, and have worked relentlessly to ensure that the benefits of life insurance are extended to as many Indians as possible. Whatever we can do as a company to lessen their worries, especially about their near and dear ones, is, we believe, not only our responsibility but our purpose.”
