Amazon India has launched road-safety awareness and training workshops across multiple cities for the benefit of its 80,000+ delivery associates, partners and truck drivers that make up its operations network. The objective is to promote safer driving practices and responsible road behaviour across last-mile and mid-mile operations nationwide.

During the month-long programme, there will be mandatory on-ground training with interactive sessions on helmet and seat belt compliance, safe riding and driving, speed management, distraction prevention, and emergency preparedness. There will also be practical drills to reinforce lane discipline, signage awareness, safe vehicle distance, and simple practices such as hydration breaks, and ‘Phone away before ignition’. Action-led measures including ‘No Helmet, No Ride’ drives, helmet inspections, pre-ride checks, peer-led demonstrations of best practices, and distribution of ISI-marked helmets to hundreds of associates are also part of the programme.

Pre-departure vehicle inspections, monitoring of helmet adherence, real-time speeding alerts, doorstep safety prompts, and instant access to third-party ambulance services during emergencies are the other sustained awareness efforts that Amazon has been implementing for a while now. These measures are part of Amazon’es efforts to create a safety-first culture across operations while supporting safer communities.

Salim Memon, director of operations, Amazon India, said,“The safety of our employees and delivery partners is fundamental to how we operate every day. Road safety is deeply embedded in our training, processes, and on-ground practices. Through regular, hands-on training and real-world learning, we equip our delivery associates and line haul drivers to navigate everyday road conditions safely. By consistently reinforcing responsible behaviour and the correct use of safety gear, we continue to strengthen safety standards across our logistics network while contributing to safer roads for the communities we serve.”
