Escorts and MG Motor India have announced both healthcare measures and financial aid for employees and their families in these difficult times. As part of its ‘Covid-Shield’ scheme, Escorts will pay an employee of a dealer a sum of Rs 20,000 if they test positive for COVID-19. The Company will reimburse the cost of vaccination for all the field sales personnel of its dealers, and has also announced a grant of Rs 1 lakh for the family of any deceased employee of its dealer. MG Motor, on the other hand, is providing free medical insurance to all employees of dealers. In case a dealer employee loses his/her life to COVID, the surviving family of the deceased will be paid an amount equivalent to one year’s salary (up to Rs 6 Lakh) as compensation by the MG dealer.

Amit Singhal, Group CHRO, Escorts, reiterates that this is their way of standing by their employees and their families, for he believes “It’s our collective effort and strength which will help us come out of this crisis.”

The engineering conglomerate has facilitated over 10,000 COVID tests for its employee base with 24×7 telemedicine support for employees and their dependents. In association with an insurance partner, the Company has supported its employees with financial aid to the tune of Rs 50,000 financial if they test positive, since 2020.

Free vaccination camps are being organised across its plants and office locations. With the objective of getting all its employees and their dependents vaccinated at the earliest, it has tied up with partners.

It has an in-house COVID Command Centre for providing medical, information and counselling support to the employees and their family. In case an employee loses his/her life to COVID, financial grant has been announced for the family too.

Escorts has been observing COVID-appropriate safeguards and government guidelines at all its office and plant locations.
