Studies show that given the rate at which jobs are evolving, more than 50 per cent of the global workforce, that is, about 1 billion people, will need to be reskilled by 2030, as per the World Economic Forum. That explains why the interest among professionals and companies in upskilling has grown, especially in the domains of software and IT services, as well as technology and innovation.

The demand for upskilling is the highest in the technology sector.

Over 80 per cent of the professionals in the technology and innovation industry have admitted that upskilling programmes have helped them learn valuable tools and strategies that can be immediately applied to their work. A whopping 87 per cent are sure upskilling programmes have equipped them with the skills and training required to advance in their career. Two in three of those surveyed reported being able to gain the confidence needed to move up the corporate ladder. They were confident that the knowledge, skills, tools and strategies they learnt from the professional upskilling programmes have helped future-proof their careers.

Today, learners can benefit from global virtual classrooms, as the programmes are conducted under the aegis of top universities that offer online and app-based learning in the form of online courses, certificate programmes, online degrees, boot camps, and so on.
