Those keen to work as foreign service officers with the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) may apply before 30 June, 2023. The job offers a minimum salary of Rs 43 lakhs and maximum of Rs 54 lakhs a year. That is, about $72,292 to $91,472 per year.

The interested candidates can apply via the official website of the Government of Canada.

Those selected will be engaged within the various migration programmes of IRCC, including processing of applications submitted by foreign applicants, assessing risk, migration diplomacy activities and engagement. They could be posted globally, at various locations, including Mexico, China, India, Senegal, Turkey and the Philippines. These postings can be changed every couple of years. That means, these foreign service officers can expect their assignments to be changed by the department whenever the department feels the need.

As per a recent announcement from IRCC, the YWCA of Metro Vancouver will get up to $1.1 million over two years, under the Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot, which will be used to support the Tech Connect programme for new women entrants. The Tech Connect programme is aimed at helping prepare racialised newcomer women in the Greater Vancouver Area who are globally-trained professionals with a background in information technology (IT). It will connect these women with professional networks and training that will give them a fair understanding of the workplace culture in the Canadian IT sector, and also help them find jobs pertaining to their skills, education and experience.

      Purely misleading!
Only Canadian citizens or Permanent residents are eligible for these jobs!
      Only 4 vacancies!
