    Applications invited for 35 faculty posts at Jamia Millia Islamia

    Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is inviting applications from interested candidates for 35 posts of assistant professor, professor and associate professor. There are 18 vacancies for assistant professor, 12 for professor and five for associate professor. The candidates may apply online through the official website, jmi.ac.in on or before April 1, 2020.

    Only those with a minimum of 55 per cent marks in post-graduation may apply. It is compulsory for candidates to have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), CSIR or a similar test by UGC. Those candidates who have obtained a PhD need not clear NET. More details about the eligibility are available on the official website.

    For the post of professor, the candidates will be eligible for salary under the pay scale of level 14, with salary between Rs 25,000 to 30,000.

    While General and OBC category candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 500, ex-servicemen and those belonging to scheduled castes (SC) or scheduled tribes (ST) have to pay Rs 250.

    Candidates may apply via offline mode too, in which case they have to ensure that their applications, along with all documents reach the office of the Recruitment and Promotion Section, 2nd Floor, Registrar’s Office, Jamia Millia Islamia, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi-110,025 on or before April 1, 2020.

    Meanwhile the University has decided to close all schools run by it till March 31, but the board examinations will continue as per schedule. Teachers will be providing study material to students, who require any assistance, online.
