Jio-bp has picked Shilpa Surve to head human resources, based out of Mumbai. Surve was earlier with Knowledge Realty Trust as vice president-human resources since July of 2025.

After completing Bachelor of Mass Media, Advertising from St Xavier’s College, Surve went on to obtain an MMS in HR from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS).

She joined Nirmal Bang Securities as assistant manager in 2009, where she was responsible for junior-level recruitment and logistics for the same. She spent over a year sourcing resumes, screening profiles, conducting first round of interviews, and conducting appropriate preliminary tests. She also created and ensured the visibility of the ‘Employer Brand’ at esteemed b-school campuses.

For a short while she was with HDIL as assistant manager-human resources before taking up the role of Lubes HR business partner at Bharat Petroleum. Just four months into that role she was elevated to assistant manager HRS North Training, working out of Noida area. She looked after the design and delivery of learning and development (L&D) interventions for junior and mid-level executives in NR, BPCL. By May of 2012 she was promoted to assistant manager-HRS West L&D, based out of Mumbai.

May of 2016 saw Shilpa Surve take on the role of senior manager-corporate learning at Bharat Peroleum.

Her next stop was HT Media where she served as assistant general manager for a year before switching to Nucleus Office Parks, a Blackstone Company, in 2020.

There, she served as general manager-talent management for over two years.

After a career break of less than a year, she returned to Nucleus as vice president-human resources, in April of 2024.

Her association with Knowledge Realty Trust began in July of 2025, as vice president-human resources.

Known for her infectious energy and ability to motivate employees to deliver above and beyond, she should be an asset to Jio-bp.

Surve’s career reflects a steady progression across industries—energy, media, real estate, and financial services—where she has built expertise in learning and development, talent management, and HR strategy. Her ability to combine operational HR with employee engagement initiatives positions her well to support

Jio-bp’s growth in a competitive energy sector. With her motivational leadership style and proven track record of driving capability building, Surve is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Jio-bp’s people agenda, strengthening culture, and aligning workforce practices with the company’s long-term transformation goals.
