Avathon, formerly known as SparkCognition, has announced plans to triple its workforce in India within the next two years. The decision signals a strong commitment to advancing industrial AI across sectors such as energy, aviation, and supply-chain management.

This workforce expansion is part of Avathon’s broader strategy to establish India as a central hub for product engineering, R&D, delivery and support.

India is a key focus for Avathon’s growth, as the company sees AI driving more than half of the Asia-Pacific region’s growth in traditional industries by 2028. Furthermore, the company’s recent rebranding emphasises its mission to bring transformative AI applications to real-world sectors, particularly in areas where operational efficiency and sustainable solutions are essential.

To support this ambitious goal, Avathon is intensifying recruitment efforts across India, actively seeking top talent in AI and engineering. The company, while recently moving its global headquarters to Silicon Valley to leverage the local innovation ecosystem, further continues to prioritise India for its talent development and research initiatives.

Avathon’s AI technology is already being implemented on a large scale in India. The company’s platform is contracted to provide safety monitoring for major oil and gas corporations, covering 17,000 retail outlets, 83 terminals, and 15 airport- fuelling stations. This expansion plan highlights Avathon’s commitment to embedding AI into traditional industries, driving transformation and excellence in sectors critical to the Indian economy.
