Toyota Motor Corp. will be increasing its hiring of software engineers in the Company from next year, spring onwards, as the automobile firm is looking to enhance its capabilities to develop autonomous and next-generation vehicles.
It is reported that the firm will increase the intake of software engineers by 40 to 50 per cent of all technical hires. The Company is looking to boost its capabilities as there is an urgent need to address a transformation to CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electric) technologies in the automobile industry.
The Company will follow the traditional process of hiring just as most companies do for mass recruitment. They will hire young graduates from universities in Japan who will join from April, as the new fiscal year starts.
The firm will also start preparing specific job descriptions and skills required, such as artificial intelligence and data analytics, to engage with their prospective employees.
The company also aims to increase midcareer hires, which stands at 30 per cent today.
