    Atul Joshi appointed vice president – HR & admin, Mahindra Finance

    Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services (Mahindra Finance) has appointed Atul Joshi as vice president – HR & admin, with effect from April 1, 2020. Joshi has taken over from Vinay Deshpande, who retired as chief people officer, Mahindra Finance. Joshi will report to Ramesh Iyer, VC & MD, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services.

    Confirming the shift his new role, Joshi told HRKatha, “Given the speed and scale of progressive disruption in the current business environment, my key focus, among other things, would be on enhancing employee experience even during challenging times, building an agile organization for future readiness and enabling Digital transformation to drive Mahindra Finance’s business strategy. I look forward to working with the business to drive the HR agenda aligned to business strategy.”

    Prior to this, Joshi was head-HR for the automotive sector at Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M). He was responsible for developing the HR strategy roadmap and driving various strategic HR initiatives, such as organisation restructuring, strategic hiring, establishment of new business, leadership development and organisation simplicity.

    His association with M&M dates back to 1993, and his initial few years were spent handling various assignments before he became part of M&M.

    Joshi made a conscious career shift in 2002, from being a line manager to becoming an HR professional, and went on to accumulate a total experience of 28 years in this domain. Since then, he has headed the HR function for diverse businesses at Mahindra, such as tractors, automobiles (UVs), trucks & bus, construction equipment, Powerol, Mahindra Electric and Agriculture Sector.

    Joshi has also been an active member of the Automotive Executive Council (AEC), which is accountable for holistic business performance including P&L.
