A scheme has been rolled out by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, which offers cashless medical facility to government staff, pensioners and their family members who are dependent on them.

Those eligible under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme, will be given a State Health Card using which they will be able to enjoy cashless medical facilities at institutions, medical colleges and hospitals run by the government. There will be no financial limit, either.

Additionally, cashless medical facilities up to Rs 5 lakh will be available at hospitals part of the panel, under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

Measures are being taken to make this State Health Card downloadable for the beneficiaries, so that they can download their cards themselves and enjoy cashless treatment at the empanelled hospitals.

Further, poor families will be given medical insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ Ayushman Bharat, while the poorest of the poor families in Uttar Pradesh will benefit from the Rs 5 lakh medical insurance cover under the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
