Women who have witnessed the curtain going down on their careers have a second chance now, as Nutanix India plans to open its doors for them.

Nutanix India is a subsidiary of Nutanix, the parent company registered in NASDAQ as NTNX. Dheeraj Pandey, founder, CEO and chairman, Nutanix looks at India as a centre of technology — both organic and inorganic.

On 22 April, 2019 the Company announced the launch of a ‘returnship programme’ for women, as part of its continued investment in India.

Having named the programme ‘WomEncore’, that is, a repeat performance by women, the Company is taking a big leap towards gender diversity at the workplace.

Through this programme, it will initiate an entry of women whose careers have been interrupted due to family or other reasons, by re-skilling and re-equipping them for a continued career in the digital workplace.

The programme will initially target eighty women, comprising two intakes of forty over the year. Each four-month training programme will consist of both classroom training and practical workplace experience designed to help them better re-integrate into a digital workforce and open the doors to full-time employment.

Leading the India operation of Nutanix from Bengaluru and Pune, Sankalp Saxena, senior VP and MD hopes that this will provide opportunity and choice to women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

“Personal sacrifice should not be a barrier to fulfilling dreams and potential. WomEncore is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to those women who have put family before career and ensuring that we offer a way back for talented individuals, as well as a commitment to help re-launch the careers of a select few,” says Saxena.

Potential applicants must have a college degree and should have been out of the workforce for over 2 years.

We believe that this is coming at the right time as women are underrepresented in STEM. Since research points out that gender diversity will pay a key role in innovation, Nutanix is taking the right step towards correcting the imbalance in the technology sector.

Nutanix is a global leader in cloud software and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, making infrastructure invisible so that IT can focus on the applications and services that power business.
